Immunotherapy

T-cell modulator

We use a leucocyte extract described as a complex molecule whose purpose is to regulate immune function by controlling the production of signaling substances (either increasing or decreasing) and influencing immune cell activity

The immune system is normally our natural first line of defense against illness and bad health. However, sometimes the immune system functions abnormally due to deficiencies and disorders where the body either loses its natural immunity or the immune system turns against the body it is supposed to protect. In either case, natural immune modulators may provide the key to maintaining a strong and properly functioning immune system.

Autoimmune disorders are conditions that occur when the immune system mistakenly attacks and destroys healthy body tissue due to an inability to distinguish between them and antigens (such as microbial pathogens). The result is an immune response that destroys normal body tissue

In general terms the function of TCM is to stimulate T cells to produce higher or lower concentrations of specific interleukins, cytokines and other substances and by doing so directing the activity of natural killer cells, T- cells, B- cells and other immune cells to perform specific functions tailored to the needs of our patients.

Natural Killer Cells (NK)

Natural killer (NK) cells are lymphocytes of the innate immune system that survey the body for stressed and abnormal cells. The integration of signals that they receive through various inhibitory and activating cell surface receptors controls their activation and ability to kill target cells and produce cytokines. In this way, distinct subsets of NK cells help to protect against microbial infections and cancer and shape the adaptive immune response.

INTERFERON GAMMA (IFNγ)

Is a cytokine that is critical for innate and adaptive immunity against viral and intracellular bacterial infections and for tumor control. The importance of IFNγ in the immune system stems in part from its ability to inhibit viral replication directly, and most importantly from its immuno-stimulatory and immuno-modulatory effects.

CYTOKINES

In recent years, the cytokine receptors have come to demand the attention of more investigators than cytokines themselves, partly because of their remarkable characteristics, and partly because a deficiency of cytokine receptors has now been directly linked to certain debilitating immunodeficiency states.

INTERLEUKINS

Is a group of cytokines (signaling molecules) that were first seen to be produced by white blood cells. The majority of interleukins are synthesized by helper T cells, as well as other immune cells. They promote the development and differentiation of specialized immune cells that either attack, or repair based on the signals they receive from the immune system.
